Look Out, World

Originally uploaded by Bud the Teacher

This is Quinlynn Laura Hunt. She was born earlier this afternoon. We call her Quinn. She’s 7 pounds, 11 ounces, and 20 inches of awesome. I’m just getting to know her; so far I like what I see. (And hear. She doesn’t cry. She squeaks.)

Oh, and just in case you’re wondering, everything in this last list? Still true. The world is a place of awe and wonder. Mysteries abound.

I’m eager to learn more about this young person. I’m humbled by the opportunity.

    Hey Bud,

Congrats on keeping us all enthralled with the twitterstream account of lead up to and eventual arrival of Quinn into the world. Speak about establishing an online identity, Quinn must just about hold the record for doing this. Is she going to be a Twitter child or will she get more into the Buzz? Whichever may she enjoy all the love you folks so obviously are willing to share.

    Cheers @mrpbps

Thanks, John. Appreciate you coming along for the ride. I can’t imagine that Quinn’s any sort of record holder – and that she’ll be posting status updates just yet – but I am grateful for all the kindness that’s been shown to my family as we’ve prepared to meet this little one.

It’s an amazing world that we live in. And there’s something to the notion that it takes a village to raise a child. Even if the geography of that village is brand new. And digital. And different.

My kids are in for such a ride – right up until they take the wheel and take me for one.

Congratulations. Welcome to the roller-coaster ride of parenthood. More love than you have ever felt and more fear than you knew existed:) Enjoy the ride.

  4. Hello Quinn!

I must say there is something mysteriously attractive in that pic of yours. I just spent a couple of minutes looking at it. I love languages and words, yet I cannot express what I see.

Wish you and your family health and happiness.
