Perpetual Motion
Pushing and shoving
Children vie for the
Front
Of the line
Heads tilted back in awe
Gazing up,
And up
And up.
Safe adventures await
Zooming to the
Apex,
Descending
Repeating the
Journey over,
And over,
And over.
My adult self is bemused
Seeing my life in the
Wheel.
I’m at the bottom
looking up
there you are
raising hands to the sky
as if in constant motion
while I toggle here in my seat
with gravity as my companion.
