    She runs;
    I stare
    at the back her ponytails flickering
    in the rush of the wind.
    She runs;
    I think
    that there was a time, too,
    when the wide expanse of white sand
    was the singular moment in my mind.
    She runs;
    I chase
    her through the dunes and let my red dress
    drop free so that I can be a
    child again.
    I run;
    She stares
    at my naked form
    and laughs as she, too, tugs herself free
    and runs even faster.

    I am standing in a white desert with a blue sky in a red dress
    The child is a mirage running toward a glimpse of her future.
    I stand back awaiting my past
    Our directions will not meet for miles unless
    we find each other in the present desiring the same
    red dress

    why do parents
    cloak their children? when
    will they see that
    the air
    the sun
    the world
    is not to shield the little ones from?

    if the warmth is enough for us,
    as grown,
    why not
    for the reaching arms,
    the wandering legs,
    the hungry skin of
    the little ones?

    Red Dress. Sand Runner.

    Two figures so inspire,
    evoke such diverse thoughts,
    shared as poetry.

    The child has to be set free.
    child might fall but after that he/she might rise up and learn a lot more things even the hardest ones by falling and then rising up again.
    this only can make the child strong.
