  1. No I won’t
    fly like that;
    Your heart beats too fast
    for me.
    My wings flap slowly
and I would rather let the wind
    carry me
    than me, carry the wind,
    so, no,
    I won’t
    fly like that;
although I marvel at your speed
and wonder at what you miss
in your rush to get there so quick.
    No, I won’t
    fly like that;
    I’m content to float here
where the air is so still
I can fade away and think.

    1. then goodbye goodbye
      leave you behind
to float & fade & forget
      we do not miss
just many more beats in our hearts to
      embrace
      as we fly like that

    Flutter-flutter-sahluurrp.
    Flutter-flutter-sahluurrp.
    Lookin’ for the nectar.

    Heart beating,
    Always eating,
    Lookin’ for the nectar

    Never stop
    Might miss a drop
    Lookin’ for the nectar.

    Blooms so sweet
    Hummy’s treat.
    Lookin’ for the nectar.

    Gotta run,
    Bud is done
    Still lookin’ for the nectar.

        1. Thanks, Kelly. I just recorded it with Vocaroo:

Really thinking that my central stanzas need another line to keep the rhythm going. I kept wanting to say one, anyway.

I also realized that there’s a double meaning here for me: I’m the hummingbird, looking for nectar from my PLN.

Constantly plugged in to Twitter and blogs etc—I sometimes act like the hummingbird.

Wild how that came to me after writing!

          Bill

  3. hum
    a bar of chocolate kisses
    stolen bases balls and baskets
    tiskets & twos
    terrible aches
    pains of labor and
    love
    conquering all the names
and facing myself & me &
    I
sing but I don’t know the words

  4. Bird Thing
    ————-

    Just look’it that bird thing.
    Like that Avatar movie.
    Wings don’t look like that!

    Any earthly creature
    takes on an unearthly form
    when you study it
    long enough to see it
    as it really is.

    Life is full of
    wonder,
    colour,
    movement,
    stillness,
    Life.
You just need to look for it, see it.

    It’s there.
