Hi, Bud

Just came across your thoughtful and wonderfully crafted poem. It speaks to me in so many different ways at the moment. It makes me think about/re-think:
finding a sense of place in cyberspace
digital footprints
"mapping" the Internet
the relationship between digital citizenship & global citizenship
the digital divide=not being (t)here (?)

Following your link to John Creighton's post about "a world of new geography," I was reminded how lucky I am to be involved in a new way of teaching and learning that IS preparing students for this new geography. As participants in the Flat Classroom Project, my students and I are developing the knowledge, skills, new literacies, habits of mind, and global competencies needed to participate in the "flat world" where local is digital is global.

Thanks for your blog in general and this poem in particular.
~Honor

It may become apparent
as the global vision grows
that everywhere is present
on the crystal screen that glows.

You’ll alter your position
when the order is ‘be quick’,
a split-second decision –
you’ll be there in just a click.

Do you mean digital spaces are not real? Digital space has the same energy as physical, but I guess one has more control over the digital.
